Tsubasa Masuwaka Hair Tutorial- Top Bun

Gyaru Tip #13: How to do the Upstyle gyaru hair bun with 5 easy steps!

1. brush your hair thoroughly and then tie it with a hairband all the way to the top of your head (about 1-2 inches away from your bangs). It should be 90 degrees in angle! It seems funny at first but eventually you’ll see ^^ Make sure to use pins for any falling strands of hair.

2. Get a teasing tooth comb. I suggest lifting your ponytail 90 degrees up for this. Use the comb and begin brushing it messily going down until your hair looks worse than a morning look. Note: The puffier the better.

3. Loosely but securely make a bun (you can use your index finger as a guide and pretend you’re wrapping your hair around it), and then secure it with hair pins. I highly discourage another hairband as it will most likely make the bun a lot smaller. OPTIONAL: You may comb the outer layer of the ponytail so that when making the bun, it’ll look a lot cleaner but it might also reduce the volume in the hair)

4. Use a strong hair spray and coat everything around it. Make sure to spray loose or falling strands because fixing it back into place without spraying it might have the whole bun falling off. Note: This may be a lot harder with those who have layered hair, but it is still achievable.

5. Lastly, feel free to use any hair accesory like bows or flowers to give it a final touch.

Hope to see everyone with the upstyle hair bun! ^^
